Hello, my name is Dan Giordano. I am the owner of GIO Technologies in Bel Air, MD. We are a Managed IT Services Company providing Computer support and Cybersecurity Solutions to businesses. I have lived in Harford County Maryland most of my life and am a 97’ graduate of C. Milton Wright High School. After graduating CMW, I attended Stevenson University and graduated with a degree in Business Information Systems. I quickly found a passion for Technology while attending college where I landed an internship working in an IT Department for a large Insurance firm in Towson. I decided to leave my job and launch GIO Technologies in 2009 from my home office. I quickly outgrew that space and our office is now located in Bel Air where we support clients throughout our local community and all over the country.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I met my wife and best friend while attending college at Stevenson University. We will be married for 20 years in September and currently live in Forest Hill. We have 2 amazing teenagers who keep us busy every day of the week! Our family loves to travel and spend time together exploring the world. My wife and I enjoy spending as much time as we can with the kids because we know it won’t be much longer before they are off to college.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have always worked in the technology field. Technology is always evolving and I have always loved that my business can help other businesses grow using technology.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Enotria and MaGerks.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Lived in Harford County for 35 years and worked in the community for 15 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
There are so many great and interesting people in this community – that is one of the things I love about my job. Providing IT Services to local communities allows me to meet and work with some of the greatest businesses and leaders in our community.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation or any movie with Chevy Chase or Will Ferrell.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Learn something new everyday.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Buontempo Brothers Pizza… Growing up, our family would eat there just about every Friday night. Most of our local rec sporting teams would have our end of season parties there… Just a great restaurant and family atmosphere.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would meet with Will Farrell for lunch at MaGerks. I feel it is important to laugh everyday.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Main Street and how our community is small and everyone is a local. You always seem to run into a friend.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Working and providing opportunities in the community. Hopefully at some point in the future spending the winter months working remotely in a warmer climate.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
My love for Barbeque smoking brisket or pulled pork!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
MaGerks Cheesesteak Nachos!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My wife and kids.

Q: What community service or volunteer work do you participate in for your local community?
We love supporting Harford Family House – whether is supporting many of their local events or having our work GIO Christmas party at their annual Boots and Bow Ties event. My son’s 8th-grade Capstone project was to build 32 coat racks for HFH and my daughter’s was to help the kids make flower arrangements. HFH is such a great organization in our local community!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Safe, Memories, Family.
