The tiniest seed of an idea can grow and bloom into something beautiful. My tiny seed of an idea started in 2016 with an idea to “spa differently”. I always love getting massages.  It is an amazing stress reducer and a beautiful way to show self-love.  But it can be costly.  Everyone needs access to other ways to reduce stress and the seed of affordable luxury options ideas was planted.  I am blessed with this moment in time and a supportive husband with a background in business.  In discussing opening Salt Works he said, “Let’s do it-no regrets”. And it’s been a wild, wonderful ride ever since!

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am blessed with an amazing family! My husband is my rock and soul mate. We have been happily married now for 28 years. My son is 24. He is a World Chase Tag Parkour Athlete and works in home restoration. My daughter is 19 and is studying Occupational Therapy at Liberty University in Lynchburg. They are my pride, my love, and my world!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Past: I graduated in 1996 as an X-ray technologist and worked in this field part-time as I was raising my kids.  I worked for Advanced Radiology, Patient First, and Towson Orthopedics.  I got into that field to help people and because I love learning about the human body.   Current: I LOVE owning and operating Salt Works Spa with my husband. It overfills my cup! It fulfills the desire and passion for wanting to help people. Stress is such a detriment to our health and I love that we’ve created a beautiful little secret sanctuary where you can come renew your spirit, mind, and body.
