I think of myself as a spiritual mentor and advisor — nestled into the quiet and yet lively heart of Bel Air. I graduated from Bel Air High School, the one that no longer exists, and started my journey as a teacher at Bel Air Middle School. I love being a part of community– connecting other people to other amazing people and enjoying the deliciousness that this county offers like great food, great farms and lots of out of the way places to relax and unwind. About 10 years ago, I began life coaching, channeling intuitive messages for others and even became a Reiki Master to help those that most needed healing and love find the support they needed. Prior to CoVid, I hosted an in-person business mastermind for local women entrepreneurs called MapMakers with the idea that each entrepreneur knows the best way to create their thriving business — now, I’ve turned that program into a virtual offering for women entrepreneurs across the globe. I host a podcast called Everyday Enchantment where everyday people can learn how to flourish by blending the practicality of being human with their own intuitive wisdom. I speak and write frequently for small and large groups and enjoy hosting local events, including meditation at Kore Barre & Yoga, where people can take a big long exhale from the daily grind of life. I love my life and the people I work with and I know I’m just getting started.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband is the most amazing partner a person could ask for. Together we have a fur-baby mini-schnauzer named Dr. Pepper who is quite famous in our neighborhood as he loves to say hello to everyone! I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters and lots of nephews and nieces so there’s always a big party to be had when we all get together.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I started my career life as a middle school English teacher at Bel Air Middle School; I loved teaching!  After about 10 years there, I decided I wanted to explore the corporate world and moved into a role in Human Resources in Training and Development. After another 10-ish years, I took a big leap of faith and started my own company as a life and business coach. I teach, write, speak and coach regularly and I absolutely love helping other people take their own leaps of faith — especially when it comes to dialing up their intuitive superpowers and trusting their own inner guidance systems.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
One Eleven Main is one of my absolute favorites, their desserts are all incredible. I also love a delicious pit-beef sandwich from Wargo’s in Forest Hill or a homemade milkshake from Keyes Creamery in Aberdeen.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived here more than 30 years. Wow! I guess that’s a long time even though I don’t feel that much older.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
There isn’t just one person. I’d have to say the women entrepreneurs in this community. I’ve made many great friends with them and I love how they are at the forefront of expanding Bel Air and Harford County with their visions and their business savvy.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of my favorite movies is As Good As It Gets with Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson. There’s something about being a messy, truthful human and finding love as you are that inspires me. I also love the Mandalorian– who doesn’t love a pint sized yoda-like character?!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
To your own self be true— always. You know you best and honoring that above all else creates a life you love, even when it’s not always the most comfortable or most popular path.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
There’s a snowball stand on Wheel Road that my sister worked at in high school. We LOVED to get snowballs there almost daily in the summer. She’d bring me back my favorite flavor which was called Sunset Orange. They still have that flavor and it reminds me of being young, driving through Bel Air on a hot summer night and feeling like there was no place better to be.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with author Liz Gilbert. Her writing and work inspires my own and I’d love to talk to her more about her writing process and the ideas she presents in Big Magic. We’d either have to snuggle up to a high top at Coffee Coffee with one of their vegan chocolate cookies and a butterfly lemonade or grab a table at Pairings and share their sliders with fries.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the sense of community — walking down Main Street and knowing so many faces. Visiting the Farmer’s Market and getting some amazing local goodies to prepare for the weekend. Even as the world grows– there is a sense of connection here. People say hello, smile and help each other out. You can see a sunset, visit an incredible waterfall or hang with friends in places that aren’t overly commercialized.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I feel like my life’s work is just getting started and I see myself traveling the world working with the most incredible humans on the planet to create more sustainable love in our daily lives. I look forward to having my work published internationally and speaking at global events.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m a medium. About 10+ years ago, I realized I had this incredible talent as an intuitive channel. To be honest, I’ve had it my whole life– however, it took awhile for me to bring this part of me out into my work.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The walking trails in and around Harford County. I absolutely love that so many new trails are popping up with a place to walk, bike and get out into Mother Nature.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
There isn’t one person who inspires me to be better. In fact, I love being me exactly as I am without having to be better. However, I do love that there is a world full of humans waking up each morning greeting the day as best they can — wanting to feel love and belonging. Wanting to be themselves without having to pretend– that inspires me.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Sanctuary, Peace, Love
