I have been teaching for 18 years in Harford County. I have worked at Hickory, Meadowvale, and am now a teacher of gifted students at Homestead-Wakefield Elementary. I have a masters degree in reading and am a National Board certified teacher. I am also the team manager of the Drama Queens, a middle school Destination Imagination improv team who have finished 5th in the world, twice. I am a builder of Legos, a collector of pins, and a lover of bird watching.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband and I have three sons, 12, 15, and 25. We have two dogs and 4 cats.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have been teaching for 18 years and am currently a teacher of gifted and talented children at Homestead-Wakefield Elementary school. I love helping students feel a sense of belonging, watching students embrace their out of the box thinking and creating their own learning from it, and the laughter.

Emily Kircher-Morris who is an expert on twice-exceptionality and I believe we would meet at We Rock the Spectrum.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The variety of community and children’s theaters available.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Still as an educator in Harford County and possibly an author.

I auditioned for SpongeBob the Musical.

The look on a twice exceptional child’s face, and their parents’, when you explain they are gifted.
