My name is Lindsey Pope and I am a writer and facilitator living in Havre de Grace. I am passionate about sharing love and laughter through writing. I currently have two children’s picture books out, Sheldon’s Time and Stella’s Dream, and am in production for my third which is about Havre de Grace. Outside of writing, I enjoy facilitating to groups and specialize in combining my passions of writing and mental health.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’ve been married for over 10 years to my husband Daniel. Together we have a very strong willed, intelligent and sassy toddler named Brielle who keeps us on our toes. We also have a loveable and fluffy orange tabby named Ricky Bean.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Since bringing Sheldon’s Time to life in August 2022, I have had so much fun connecting with people. My favorite thing has been the conversations I’ve had with people who tell me that they’d like to write a book. I get to say “If I can do it, you can do it!”
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Vagabond as they not only have delicious food but also do character nights for kids.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in Harford County since 2012. I was in Belcamp until 2020, then we moved to Havre de Grace and have lived here since.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My friend, Alicia Hamilton, is an amazing person who not only started a nonprofit organization, Fresh Start Furnishings, but also started HarfordHelps.com and has so many future plans to continue serving the community. She inspires me!
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite TV show of all time is I Love Lucy. I’m proud to say I’m getting my daughter into it as well! My favorite movies are nostalgic and funny Christmas movies. I watch Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story every single year and never get tired of them.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
If you have a dream inside of you, go for it! I had the dream of making a book years before I brought mine out into the world. Once I finally decided to move forward despite my fear, it was such an amazing feeling. Amazing things happen when you allow yourself to follow your dream.
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
While it’s not a specific business, I just love the whole Main Street concept. I love a centralized location for so many shops and restaurants, and also great events like First Fridays and Farmers Markets.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with Brene Brown as reading her perspective on moving forward despite your fears really helped me get Sheldon’s Time out into the world. I’d take her to one of my favorite spots. Barrett’s on the Pike in Bel Air.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love how genuinely supportive everyone is!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself surrounded by my own books, and also seeing my books in stores and libraries across our area. I also see myself continuing to give presentations and helping others whenever I can.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
People are often surprised to learn I have three tattoos.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Soul conversations and genuine connections. I’ll be honest, I hate small talk! When you really go deeper and get to know each other, I’m all about it.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My daughter inspires me to be the very best version of myself everyday.
