My practice focuses on helping businesses and families enhance their lives today and secure their futures tomorrow by trying to keep them out of court and out of conflict. I guide client through the often confusing maze of legal decisions to create plans that ensure the well-being of their businesses, families, and the accomplishment of cherished goals. My legal experience includes general counsel services, asset and family protection, wealth preservation, and values-based estate planning. Whether you are a business owner, married or single, with a traditional family or blended one, just starting out or looking back on a life well-lived, I can help you to craft a plan that achieves your goals for you and your loved ones today and for years to come. We work with clients to transition them from a state of anxiety of unresolved estate and business planning, potentially leaving loved ones and employees in disarray to a state of peace of mind, knowing that their legacy and business is secure, organized, and will be executed as seamlessly as possible to provide comfort and security for your family and business.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I live in Port Deposit, MD with my loving husband, Kevin; our adorable toddler, Roman; our bouncy Havanese, Luna; and our cuddly tabby cat, Maya.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Every job that I had prior to starting my firm over 10 years ago has been working in the legal field or related industry, and I consider myself fortunate to say that. I love that I get to help families and businesses protect what they work hard to build. I get to work in my zone of genius, which is strategy, while helping families and business leave a lasting impact for themselves and future generations.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Pairings Bistro, Barrett’s on the Pike, One Eleven Main, The Local.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
16 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
This is such a hard question to answer – I cannot narrow it to only one!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite TV show is Fraiser.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
I would advise people to cultivate a mindset of continuous learning and adaptability. In today’s ever shifting world, being open to new ideas, staying curious, and embracing change are crucial.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I miss Duclaw, but when they still had their buffalo chicken dip on the menu. I never had it before Duclaw and after they took it off the menu, I had to learn how to make it myself because I didn’t want to go back to a life with no buffalo chicken dip.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Marie Forleo, author of Everything is Figureoutable. I’m always on a quest to figure out how to live more authentically, effectively, and efficiently, so I can spend time with those I love and doing the things most aligned with my values. I find that her thought leadership has made an impact on how I can live a better life for myself and those around me. We’d have lunch at Pairings Bistro.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love that our community is supportive, ever changing, and far enough away from the hectic life of the city, but close enough for when you do want to venture down I95.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Running the go-to law firm in the community for business and estate planning needs.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
My second career choice would have been to be an architect.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Hopkins Farm Brewery – it’s a great place to meet family, friends, & business contacts where you can bring your own chairs, tents, etc. to turn the time into whatever you want it to be. It’s lovely to have a space where my son can run around while the adults are also enjoying themselves.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My son – I always strive to show up as my best self for him.

Q: What community service or volunteer work do you participate in for your local community?
I have recently stepped down from a few boards due to time constraints, but regularly educate the community on legal matters so people can be more informed. I will be doing more community education over the coming months as I’ve made it a top priority for this year.

Love, calming, and comforting.
