I grew up in Baltimore City, Hamilton to be exact, until age 16 then moved to Baltimore County to finish High School at Loch Raven. While working downtown, I met my husband of 20 years, bought a house in Abingdon shortly after and soon had my first child. I’ve been a Harford County resident for 19 years. I enjoy the beach, camping and traveling. I plan to visit all 50 states before I am 50! Christmastime is my favorite time of year; my family and I enjoy visiting amusement parks when all are beautifully lit with millions of twinkle lights. I’m currently employed with a local realty company in the Town of Bel Air and, in my spare time, volunteer at Luna’s House and for my daughter’s beloved Girl Scout Troop. I adore all animals and plan to live my golden years in sunny California with lots of rescues!
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Married 20 years with three amazing children, two in HCPS and one in college. We have the sweetest dog named Max, two ornery cats, Mitter and Severide, and a parakeet names Delilah.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Motherhood is my favorite job of all! Since college, Hospitality had been my background. I recently shifted gears and began working for a wonderful realty company on Main Street. Everyone I work with is a delight! The employees and clients couldn’t be any nicer! I’m so happy to be part of such an amazing team!
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Sunny Day Cafe is my go to for breakfast to get those amazing crepes. La Tolteca, in Bel Air, is my favorite restaurant for lunch and dinner!
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I’ve worked in Harford County for 10 years, but specifically in the Town of Bel Air, since July, 2022.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Jack Dawson, who covered sports on WMAR for more than 30 years, lived across the street from me in Abingdon. He was a terrific sportscaster while I was growing up, but also, a kind and wonderful neighbor.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite movie is Stand by Me and my favorite TV show, hands down, is The Golden Girls. “Picture it, Bel Air, 2022!”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
“Live in the now!” A quote that my late brother, Matt, used to say to me all the time! Life flies by and if you take too much time to sweat the small things, you’ll miss out!
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Harford County Public Library is a special place for me. For decades, HCPL has provided countless materials and resources for my family. My children and I have participated in many story times, crafts, digital experiences, clubs, reading programs and much more!
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I’d love to have lunch with Dr. Jane Goodall, one of the most quintessential animal rights activists of all time. I’d take the doc on the Ma & Pa Trail for a picnic. After our walk, we’d end up at Independent Brewing Company to have some kombucha and brews!
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
The Main Street parades held on holidays is always a huge hit and tons of fun for all ages!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself as a Harford County resident, employee and volunteer for the next several years all while spending precious time with family and friends. I dream of moving to the West Coast to become a humanitarian in some capacity helping those in need…animals included.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’ve never once played Monopoly in my life. Not sure if that makes me interesting, or quite boring. Haha.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Not only customer service, but customer experience!
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My three children
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family, pets & peace!
